My wife is very patient with me. I collect hobbies like a hoarder, most involve purchasing equipment and tools, finding space to store them and time to use them. I am retired, so the time is not so much of an issue, however, some of this is spent in my workshop/garage and some with like minded individuals in clubs, leaving my wife without my company. Thinking about this, she might find it a blessing, but my guilt is there! I have tried to encourage her to become involved in one of my passions (art), but this did not interest her. I know she has dabbled in creative writing, so maybe this is an interest we can develop together. There is also a realisation that my ability to actively partake in my current pastimes might diminish as my years advance, and I may need to diversify with new ways to occupy my time that require less physical ability while keeping my mind active.
